JOB TITLE: Project Engineer
LOCATION: Warrington
SALARY/RATE AND BENEFITS: £28 - £35 per hour (umbrella/LTD)
DURATION: 6 months
IR35 Determination: Inside

YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
-
This role requires BPSS clearance
-
3 years' experience as a Project Assistant or Technical lead
-
Able to demonstrate experience across some parts of the project lifecycle with a demonstrable understanding of the whole project life cycle
-
Engineering background in an appropriate sector, process engineering, oil & gas or civil engineering; nuclear preferable.
-
Experience in managing single discipline projects
-
Experience of various forms of contract (e.g. NEC).
-
Degree level qualification or HND or HNC preferred; minimum level entry level L3 NVQ/Engineering Qualification OND or ONC in an Engineering Discipline
-
Working toward becoming a Chartered Engineer with a recognised Engineering Institution preferred
-
Association of Project Management (APM) Full/Associate member or equivalent; Project Management Institute (PMI); qualification, APM Introductory Certificate Qualification or Certified Associate in Project Management
-
IOSH Managing Safely; studying toward higher Health and Safety qualifications essential if site based

ROLE INFORMATION:
To provide project management and control skills within the framework of an approved management system to deliver defined small projects/work packages and project tasks of varying complexity and risk to cost and to programme on behalf of the Senior Project Manager or Project Manager through the deployment of team management skills.

Delivery of defined small projects/work packages and project tasks of varying complexity and risk to time, cost and QEH&S targets in compliance with the Cavendish Nuclear Management System or an agreed Joint Venture/Partnership Management System

To support and promote the principles, processes and culture that underpin company accreditation for IAMM and ISO 9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001
-
Assists in ensuring the Health, Safety and Welfare of all team members and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements
-
Actively promote environmental awareness/considerations and sustainability through the small projects/work packages and project tasks delivery cycle
-
Working with commercial representatives ensuring that all small projects/work packages and project tasks satisfy all businesses commercial requirements
-
To lead by example and champion the principles as set out in ''Being Cavendish Nuclear'' and to foster and encourage a safety first working culture
-
Strategic customer and stakeholder management externally and internally within the business consistent with the overall strategy of the business and delivery of component programmes and projects
-
Contributes to the process of capturing, analysing, implementing and validating requirements for small projects/work packages and project tasks
-
Contributes to the leadership, management and governance of the overall project by being accountable for small projects/work packages and project tasks meeting specified requirements
-
Able to contribute to the development of a project risk and opportunity plan, can identify project risks for small projects/work packages/tasks undertaken
-
Provides input to delivery programme baselines and contributes to the operation of project control processes (requirements capture, planning, cost, risk, trend analysis and change control)
-
Ensure all project documentation is maintained to the required standards within the management system
-
Able to demonstrate knowledge of the Cavendish Nuclear ''Win Business'' process and the Project Sanctioning process and provide support

The management of customer and project interfaces in the delivery of small projects/work packages and project tasks
-
Able to manage small projects/work packages and project tasks in compliance with relevant contractual legal duties, rights and processes

Assist the Senior Project Manager/Project Manager in discharging his or her strategic and capability development responsibilities
-
Provision of small projects/work packages and project tasks performance data (i.e. critical path analysis, float erosion, milestones, CPI, SPI and EVA) to the Cavendish Nuclear Account Management team on a monthly basis

Assistance in the management of staff related issues in accordance with Cavendish Nuclear HR policy, processes and procedures
-
To motivate and manage small project/work package and project task team performance and assist the management in carrying out staff appraisal's in line with company policy, process and procedure
-
Provide input and feedback to the Senior Project Manager or Project Manager in the continuing development and improvement of the Cavendish Management System comprising the Project Management Process to meet the business challenges

To develop knowledge of "best practice techniques" as outlined within, the APM " Body of Knowledge?, and the Nuclear National Skills Academy competence framework

Deputise for the Project Manager in agreed areas of responsibility as required
