Job Description

The Hinkley Point C Project is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Europe. During the business construction phase over 5,600 people will work on the site. The project marks the rebirth of the UK's nuclear industry and will present invaluable opportunities for Somerset, the South West and wider UK.

Technical Co-ordination Engineer
Cannington
11 month PAYE Contract (+ 33 days paid leave).

Principal Accountabilities
To assist in the coordination and management of technical, financial, programme and other aspects of NNB Pre-Operations Directorate.
The Technical Coordination Engineer will report to the Technical and Safety Support Manager ensuring that the appropriate arrangements are in place for NNB Pre-Operations Directorate to develop the operational capability for HPC.
It is a superb opportunity to work with NNB directors, senior managers, leads as well as ONR regulators. Your area of focus will depend on business need. As a minimum, this role will be focused on the following areas:

Management of Pre-Operations risks

Support management of Pre-Operations finances

Management of Operational Commitments

Organise Programme Board meetings

Act as the Preoperations co-ordinator for organisational learning

Provide support to technical and regulatory meetings

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience
Essential

Excellent interpersonal skills. Evidence of relationship building, influencing and collaborative work style in a complex environment

Experience of working in team-focused environments

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

A proactive analytical thinker with an ability to work with minimal supervision and on their own initiative.

Degree in engineering or science discipline.
Desirable

Experience of working in a project organisation

Experience of working with UK regulators

Good commercial awareness
