JOB TITLE: Environmental Engineer

LOCATION: Harwell

RATE: £24.21 per hour (PAYE)

CLIENT INFORMATION:

Our client is a nuclear decommissioning Site Licence Company and is a direct subsidiary of the NDA. They are responsible for the decommissioning of nuclear power stations and research facilities in the United Kingdom.

YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
Educated to NQF level 5 / NVQ Level 5 in relevant subject e.g. HND
Member of a relevant professional institute
Relevant experience related roles as a Environmental Engineer
Detailed knowledge of relevant environmental legislation and ISO 14001
BPSS Security clearance required of the successful candidate

The Role:
12 Month Contract
Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week

Provide advice and guidance on the Site arrangements for environmental management.

Develop and maintain documentation/procedures in relevant aspects of environmental management.

Undertake activities required to support environmental compliance as required.

Assist with developing and maintain the arrangements for compliance with statutory and Company requirements.

Manage and support the collection, analysis and reporting of site discharges, radioactive disposals and environmental monitoring programme as appropriate ensuring compliance with the site's Certificate of Authorisation and Compilation of Environment Agency Requirements.

Produce and maintain the consent under the Environmental Impact (EIAD) regulations, including environmental impact assessments as appropriate.

Maintain ISO 14001 certification as appropriate.

Ensure the production and maintenance of any required permits, consents and other regulatory approvals as required

Develop and manage the Site Improvement Plan for environmental management.

Support the Site and Project implementation of environmental & waste arrangements.

Support the management of land contamination plans as required.

Monitor performance and take action or provide advice as necessary to maintain standards and improve performance.

Identify good practice in performance at sites and externally, and promote and deploy across the sites.

As a customer-focused individual, the post holder will be expected to support delivery within his or her range of skills, knowledge, experience and competence.

Drive improvements in environmental protection.
