Job Description

Role Title: OPEX Coordinator
Location: Hartlepool
Role Type: Contract
Length of contract: 12 months (mat cover)

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the Operational Learning and Development programme is effectively implemented and supported at the station.

Key activities

Working with Station Management to support them in embedding organisational learning within the Station

Day to day organisation and supervision of the learning processes

Management, coordination and mentoring of the Operational Excellence (OPEX) process

Screening external events and internal reports for significance and relevance to Hartlepool

Management, coordination and mentoring of the Self Assessment and Benchmarking process (this includes the Internal Controls process)

Supporting self assessment, benchmarking and corrective action programmes

Liaising with the Organisational Learning peer groups and corporate CI Team to continually improve local and fleet performance

Driving the Organisational Learning improvement plan

Coaching others to ensure their performance is in line with best practice

Delivering training in relevant subjects when necessary

Participating in investigations where required

Providing management reports as required

Maintaining and monitoring performance metrics, recommending and implementing recovery actions where necessary

Providing leadership for matters associated with organisational learning, ensuring that activities are carried out in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures

Management, coordination and mentoring of the WANO SOER process

Key skills/experience required

A working knowledge of the OPEX process would be beneficial as would some experience of self assessment & benchmarking and experience of carrying out investigations.

A good understanding of nuclear power plant operations is required and a background in operations, maintenance, engineering or other relevant discipline would be advantageous.

The ability to engage with staff and managers at all levels to encourage and embed organisational learning is essential.

As a minimum, applicants will have a relevant HNC (or equivalent). Candidates with a relevant degree may have an advantage.
