Electrical and Mechanical Fitter

Rullion have a requirement for a Dual Skilled Fitter, with strong mechanical and electrical skills to work on a long-term contract for a world renowned Rail Company.

Working as part of a large maintenance team on the Class 390 Pendolino fleet, this role is based at a significant Rail Depot in Manchester. Previous rail/rolling stock experience is advantageous for this position, but experience in a similar industry will be considered.

The successful applicant should have a minimum of an NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering or recognised equivalent.

Hours:
You will work a mixture of day and night shifts, plus one out of every two weekends on a six-week rotation. On average you will work 37 hours per week.

Rates:
£19.60 per hour for the first 12 weeks.
£22.25 per hour once the first 12 weeks are completed.

Description:
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be a senior team member, servicing, maintaining and repairing the Class 390's. Within the team you will ensure that traction and rolling stock are serviced and maintained in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner whilst constantly seeking to improve quality.

Key skills and requirements for the role include;

• Time served apprenticeship in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or an ONC or NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
• Rail experience
• In depth fault finding experience
• Basic MS Office IT skills
• Prepared to work shifts including days, nights and weekends
