Rate: Market leading hourly or day rate.

Rullion are proudly recruiting for a OHL Design engineer for the UK Transmission & distribution power provider. The transmission network and two electricity distribution networks, comprising 106,000 substations and 130,000 km of overhead lines and underground cables across one third of the UK. We employ over 20,000 people and every year we make an Olympic sized contribution of around £9 billion to the UK economy.
Due to continued growth, we are looking experienced OHL Design Engineers into the Regional Design teams based in Swindon for 6-9 months. The teams support the construction teams across the business regions.

OHL Designer you will produce a coordinated and coherent detailed design for new cable routes, new overhead line schemes, network refurbishment, plant replacement and network alteration on the LV to 33kV networks. This will include planning, managing, monitoring and coordination of health and safety in the pre-construction phase. Designs will need to ensure the network is constructed robustly and cost effectively whilst eliminating health and safety risks in the design and financial risks during construction. You will liaise with customers, land agents, local authorities and colleagues to achieve a fit for purpose design. You will be required to produce cost estimation for the work and the materials list to deliver the work on time and within budget.
To succeed in this role, you should have experience in design and construction of electrical distribution networks from LV to 33kV. You will have knowledge of CDM regulations and experience of working with the NRSWA code of practice. You should have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work quickly, accurately and independently whilst under pressure. You will have strong negotiation and influencing skills, excellent written and oral communication and a willingness to develop. You must have the flexibility and a willingness to assist other team members. You should demonstrate the ability to make innovative and effective business improvements.
A full UK driving licence is required as you will be travelling to different sites and there may be occasions where an overnight stay is required.
