DURATION: 6 Months
Rullion are currently recruiting a Civil & Structural Designer to join a world leading industrial services provider at their office in Warrington. This is a contract position with competitive rates.
As a Civil & Structural Designer you will undertake specification and design activities associated with the relevant discipline elements of engineering projects, including feasibility studies, project strategies, programming, estimating, front end design, through to detailed design, interfacing with other disciplines, supporting site construction and commissioning activities, ensuring that all project deliverables are delivered in a safe, cost effective timely manner and in compliance with all relevant standards, directives, regulations and quality targets.
Liaise closely with the Project Engineer / Lead designer to obtain an understanding of the project engineering requirements.
Ensure Safety, Health & Environmental protection are inherent in the engineering design Ability to interpret Engineering Line Diagrams and develop into engineering designs.
Ensure constructability issues are considered and addressed during the design stage Ensure the engineering design is consistent with current standards.
Assist the Project Engineer / Lead Designer with the delivery of the engineering design to meet the agreed project programme
Identify design issues and highlight them to the Project Engineer / Lead Designer. Produce and / or develop schemes, arrangement drawings, schedules and other deliverables as required by the project.
Survey clients sites where required to ascertain project restraints and identify key dimensional information.
Ensure internal checking and approval procedures are being followed. Participate in design review meetings.
Be proficient with use of Autocad 2D and general office software required for issuing design deliverables Work within programme set out for the project.
Identify design issues and highlight them to the Mechanical Engineer / Lead Designer/Project Engineer Design liaison across disciplines and participation in design review meetings
Produce and/or develop design deliverables e.g. 3D Models, arrangement drawings, site structure lists, fabrication drawings, pipe supports, schedules, material take-offs, site instructions
Knowledge of current Standards and codes of practice including Eurocodes and EN1090, etc.
Experience on discipline design and detail.
Industry experience in process industries (Chem / Petro hem / Oil and Gas / Energy / Utilities).
Experience of working in a team of designers.
Good technical discipline knowledge.
Experienced user of Autocad and general PC basic software packages (Essential).
Experience of BIM and using Revit
ONC in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent (minimum)
HNC/HND in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent (preferred)
