RACE is part of UK Atomic Energy Authority, and together they are working help shape the future of the world`s energy playing a part in our carbon-free energy future.We are now looking for a highly motivated and detail orientated Product Manager to join our growing product team to help own and develop our software products and other software related to robotics and artificial intelligence.
As a Product Manager, you will be an integral part of our product team and the lifecycle of our product portfolio, you will also interface with our Engineering, QA and Support teams as well as internal and external customers.
You'll act as leader and owner of one or more software products which may be used across multiple internal projects as well as by external customers and collaborators. You'll own the creation and management of the roadmap, the priorities of the features and requirements of the product as well as the testing and validation of the development. You will be the voice of the customer, the knowledge for the sales team and the driving force for engineering.
In your role you'll:
Manage and deliver a detailed software product Roadmap
Work with industry and academia to develop partnerships for development and exploitation of software
Work directly with internal customers including other large projects to negotiate priorities and deadlines.
Compile project costs and plans using inputs from the project team. Identify and produce development milestones based on business and customer needs with detailed product deliverables for each milestone.
Analyse, prioritise, and manage exploitation opportunities for the product.
Define the product range and manage the product specifications
Work daily with software development team to drive priorities, maintain knowledge, control and ownership of the products.
Carry out outreach and promotional activities including delivering presentations and performing demos related to software products
Analyse potential partner relationships and licensing opportunities for RACE software
Manage trials and product launch activities, coordinating with other groups
Manage issues, bugs, and support activities
Coordinate and motivate of engineering teams, including cross-project resource management.
National and international travel may be required.
3 years' experience as a Software Product Manager or a related role. This should include experience working directly with software engineering teams.
Experience working in multi-organisation collaborations.
Knowledge and experience in the project management lifecycle.
Demonstrate experience working with agile software project management.
Knowledge of software development, testing, and deployment techniques, tools, and processes.
Knowledge and experience of software intellectual property considerations.
Understanding of the stages of a software products lifecycle.
Understanding of the requirements capture process, V&V, and engagement with engineering teams.
Qualification/training in project management skills
Experience of quality control processes and procurement procedures.
Excellent interpersonal skills with proven leadership experience, including the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
The role may require travel within Europe
