Are you seeking a role which offers you the opportunity to engage with customers both face to face and over the telephone?  Are you motivated by providing a high quality service and resolving problems across a wide range of computing, networking and telecommunications services?  Due to increased service requirements, we are seeking enthusiastic and experienced First Line Support technicians to join our well established team who provide IT help-desk support across the whole organisation, including office based teams as well as those working in remote sites. 

TfGM oversees transport in Greater Manchester, delivering and improving transport services, facilities and information to make travel easier for everyone. We deliver high-profile, large-scale transport projects such as the expansion of the Metrolink network to the Trafford Centre and new state of the art rail & bus inter-changes in Bolton, Wigan, Ashton and Stockport. Greater Manchester is changing. With a growing population and economy, and one of the most significant devolution agendas nationally, this is an exciting time for transport in Greater Manchester.

You will deliver a range of computer and IT services, including providing IT support to a wide range of teams, including recording, reporting and managing faults within the IT Helpdesk; providing informative communications to customers; and identifying opportunities for new technologies within the organisation.

You will have a good knowledge of computing and technology having significant experience of working within an IT Helpdesk environment, together with excellent communication and customer service skills and will be able to work effectively within a team environment and be flexible to cover different working patterns. Demonstrating any relevant experience gained within an IT support area would be advantageous, as would ITIL V3 Foundation.

The role will require working a ‘shift pattern’ to provide extended support between 07:00 and 20:00, Monday to Friday.
