Job Description

This role will form part of the Planning & Performance team based in Edinburgh which enables the effective & efficient delivery of Royal London Intermediary and Group strategy, through robust business planning and reporting and analysis of our propositions’ performance internally and externally. This role will entail designing, creating, maintaining, analysing and providing commentary on complex Management Information explaining the proposition and business performance of RLI for its managers and customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing complex MI Project work and confidence in taking on larger & multiple projects
  • Maintaining a detailed knowledge of the data sources available to the BI/MI Team, and how it is appropriate to use them to add value to the business
  • Designing, developing and testing new MI reports
  • Ensuring existing MI reports are kept up to date and efficient
  • Following team processes and standards to ensure MI produced is of the highest possible quality
    Identifying and driving improvements to team processes and services
  • Providing analysis and commentary on MI to help customers’ understanding of the key points and trends
  • Running daily workloads and allocating tasks
  • Ability to appropriately challenge requests to understand the real underlying concern and provide accurate, efficient solutions that meet customers’ needs
  • Developing positive relationships with customers and suppliers of the Team

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience of MI producing technologies including Excel, Access, Business Objects and Tableau
  • Proficient at writing formulae to perform calculations in reports
  • Good understanding of key business processes & strategic goals for a financial services business
  • Good understanding of project life-cycle
  • Good knowledge of the structure of the business and who the key people are
  • Excellent understanding of databases and how they work
  • Advanced analytical skills & attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication & problem solving skills
  • Excellent team-working
  • Excellent understanding of how to present information for maximum understanding and impact
