Summary of the Role
You’ll provide crucial support to the finance department by assisting with Management Accounts and various accounting tasks. You will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the timely availability of financial information. Attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are key for this role!
What You'll Do
- Contribute to the preparation of management accounts, including preparing journals, accruals, prepayments, analytical reviews and variance analysis to ensure accounts are free from material errors.
- Record and reconcile financial transactions accurately and promptly.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Uphold strict adherence to accounting principles, regulations, and company policies, ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity.
- Play an active role in internal and external audit processes.
- Foster productive relationships with auditors, collaborating closely to provide required information and efficiently resolve queries.
- Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of financial controls and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining the fixed asset register.
- Take ownership of various balance sheet reconciliations, including Bank Reconciliations.
- Collaborate in the preparation and submission of statutory returns and compliance requirements, playing a crucial role in ensuring regulatory obligations are met.
What You Bring To The Role
- Previous experience in Management Accounting
- Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central or Dynamics NAV.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Strong Excel skills including lookups, pivot tables, and IF functions.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office suite.
What You're Good At
- Familiar with management accounts preparation, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
- Someone with a solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices with a relevant degree in accountancy or AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting.
- The detail! You have a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in financial records and transactions.
- Highly organised, which allows you to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
- An analytical thinker and have great problem-solving skills, enabling you to contribute to financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making processes.
- Tech savvy and are skilled at using accounting software and the MS Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Maintaining integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
- Adaptable and open to learning ways of working, and new technologies and processes in the finance domain.
- The Financials: You have strong numerical skills, enabling accurate data entry and financial calculations.
