Linda Walsh, one of our Business Development Managers, aims to raise £3,000 for Christies Hospital

Christies Hospital wish to develop a new Chemotherapy Unit which requires £1.2m funding. Linda has competed in a number of events over the past few years for Christies with Altrincham Kersal RFC and raised a total of £2,550 last year.

This year sees Linda's most challenging event to date. Her team aims to raise a total of £20,000 through a series of three cycling challenges:

Manchester to Liverpool : 56 miles
The Transpenine Trail: 80 miles
Manchester Ride: 100 miles

Linda is aiming to raise £3,000 herself to go towards the overall team target.

"I am determined this year to reach my goal of £3,000, as at the start of the year I made a promise to my mother-in-law that I would again raise money for Christie's Hospital as her husband had died there 4 years previously.  She was herself taken into Christie's before Christmas and again she reminded me how grateful she was that I was going to be raising money for the Hospital this year.  She felt that I had provided some help to both her and her husband's comfort during their last days.  Unfortunately, she passed away on the 5th February this year, only 2 months after her initial diagnosis.

Cancer is now one of those sure thing's in life that unfortunately every-one knows some-one who has been directly or indirectly touched by it. Please please give generously".

Rullion Computer Personnel Gives Gift of Life to Ugandan Village

Every year thousands of corporate gifts are provided to suppliers, clients and contractors. Many of these gifts lie in office drawers, unused and unwanted. This year Rullion has decided to take the lead and instead of purchasing numerous small gifts we have paid for a bore hole to be installed in Uganda on behalf of our clients.

World Vision states “this gift brings clean, life-giving water to a village in Uganda for the first time ever - to help make water-borne diseases a thing of the past. The benefits are profound: women and girls will no longer have to walk miles to gather water, leaving more time and energy for work and school. Crops and cattle will benefit from a better water supply. Result: a community transformed.”

Jon Hitchenor, Rullion Managing Director comments “In today’s society it is essential that the West understands its social and environmental responsibilities. As an organisation that is committed to helping people and ensuring environmental improvements throughout the world we are proud to be supporting this scheme. I am sure that our clients will be fully supportive in this commitment that we have made.”
