cv preparation

Your CV is the main tool we use to sell your experience and skills, so it's well worth investing time in its preparation so that it emphasises your skills and experience - and demonstrates your ability to meet our clients' demands. For help with your CV, see below - or simply ask one of our consultants!

Your CV should include the following:

1. Personal information such as:
- address
- contact telephone numbers
- availability for work
- education history, qualifications and training courses attended
- preferred job locations
- names, addresses and contact numbers of two referees

2. A brief skills summary pointing out your main strengths, achievements to date and career aspirations.

3. Your career history (ideally in reverse chronological order), detailing:

- companies you've worked for
- dates and job positions
- main skills you used or acquired
- responsibilities
- major achievements

Useful CV guidelines:

1. Emphasise your most recent work – it's what potential employers will be most interested in.

2. Give an accurate, honest account of your capabilities – and don't be tempted to oversell or undersell your strengths and experience.

3. Provide 3-4 pages of information. If in doubt, leave details in and we'll advise you on whether or not to take them out.
